Director Lisa Owen was a charter member of Dallas Ballet under the direction of George Skibine and Marjorie Tallchief. At Dallas Ballet, she danced many principal roles, including several created for her by Mr. Skibine.
Ms. Owen has been a principal dancer with Lyric Opera Ballet of Chicago, Ballet Oklahoma, Santa Fe Opera, and Ballet Dallas. As a Ford Foundation scholar, Ms. Owen studied at the School of American Ballet, and her training includes many of the great master teachers of the Twentieth century. Ms. Owen has been a guest teacher at many fine schools across the country where she has staged the classics and choreographed original works.
As founder of New World Dance Center and New World Ballet Company, Ms. Owen continues her commitment to share her rich experience and great love for the art of dance with the students and the community.
